Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday walked in meet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the PM and his council of ministers. The two bigwigs is believed to have given the final touch to the new cabinet who will also take oath along Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day.

It is likely that Amit Shah will be inducted in the Union Cabinet and may be rewarded with a big portfolio like Finance. Shah had in last 5 years have proved himself as one of biggest political minds in the country. Under his Leadership, Bharatiya Janata Party not only registered a massive mandate in the recently held polls but also score big in State Polls in Uttar Pradesh, North-East States.

Sushma Swaraj who did not contested the polls is likely not be inducted in the new Cabinet because of her illness. If She would not be inducted in the new cabinet then there will be a vacancy in Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).

Sushma Swaraj in previous Narendra Modi’s Government held an important External Affairs portfolios.

While Arun Jaitley who held a Finance Portfolio in previous government had on Wednesday wrote a letter to PM Modi requesting him not to induct him in the next government. In a page to Narendra Modi, Jaitley said, “I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health, and, therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new Government.”

Narendra Modi is slated to take oath as Prime Minister for second term later in the day along with his Council of Ministers at 7pm at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the national capital. Many High profile politicians from the globe have been invited for the mega ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party, on May 23 scripted history by bagging 303 seats on its own in the recently concluded national polls. Along with its allies, it took its tally to 352 Lok Sabha Seats out of 542 Seats were national polls held in April-May in seven phases.
