Amit Shah Slams Pakistan PM’s Silence Over Pulwama Attack; Claims IAF Abhinandan’s Return ‘Diplomatic Victory’

Bhartiya Janta Party President Amit Shah on Friday racked up Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for not condemning the Pulwama Terror Attack and how India can trust him. He said while questioning the silence of Pakistan PM, Shah while speaking at India Today Conclave said, “The Pakistan PM should have criticised the Pulwama attacks at least once. How can we expect anything from him, or trust him? Maybe the situation is not in his control. At least he could have done lip service”.

Speaking about the IAF Abhinandan Varthaman return to India, Amit Shah claimed that this is a diplomatic victory of the nation. Shah reportedly said, ‘Creating a situation for a return of pilot Abhinandan in such a short span of time is our diplomatic victory’.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman had on Wednesday morning ejected from his aircraft on PoK side after the MIG 21 shot down following Air Combat with Pakistan Air Force. He was later taken into custody by Pakistan Armed Forces.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced in Parliament on Thursday that IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman would be released on Friday as a “peace gesture”.

Shah speaking in the TV Channel conclave also fired Salvo at Opposition and their joint resolution post the air strikes gave ammunition to Pakistan. “The opposition’s accusation against the BJP that it was politicising the sacrifices of our forces has given happiness to Pakistan,” Shah said.

He also attacked Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh‘s calls for restraint to India and Pakistan, Shah said how can you (Manmohan Singh) compare a country which is sponsoring Terrorism with India.

Hailing his Government at Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah said Modi Government has been able to create ‘fear’ in the minds of those behind terrorism by destroying JeM Terror Launch Pads in Balakot through Air Strikes.

“I believe the track record of our government has been the best in dealing with terror since Independence… Maximum number of terrorists have been eliminated under BJP government led by Modi,” he said.

The escalating tension between India and Pakistan comes a day after the Indian air strike on a terror camp in Pakistan on wee hours of Tuesday. Jammu and Kashmir saw heightened military activity on Wednesday, with Pakistani jets violating the Indian air space and dropping some bombs in the Rajouri sector after which one of their fighters was shot down.

Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.

However, Pakistan hasn’t acknowledged any casualties. Countries across the world have lined up in Indian support asking Pakistan to put a check on terror camps within the country.
