Andhra Pradesh government has revoked the prior approval given to the CBI to conduct raids in the state. Now, CBI has to seek the permission of the Home Ministry of Andhra Pradesh if it has to raid here.

With the latest decision, the CBI functions would now have to be carried out by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of AP within AP limits.

CM Chandrababu Naidu has taken this decision in the wake of CBI losing its credibility as seen in the last few days. Naidu feels that it would also keep a check on the central officials who are aiding the political vendetta of the central government.

This makes AP the first state in the history of Independent India to take such a decision.
