Another farmers rally in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh; Leaders detained

All India Kisan Sangharsh started the Kisan Mukti Yatra today from Mandsaur in MP, but was stopped by the police and its leaders are arrested.

All India Kisan Sangharsh Co-ordination Committee started a Kisan Mukti Yatra on Thursday from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh.

This is the same place where 5 farmers were killed in police firing almost a month back, when the farmers were protesting, demanding for the increase in the minimum price set (MPS) set for their farm products and for a complete farm loan waiver and the police were trying to stop the protest.

Madhya Pradesh is yet again witnessing the protest of the farmers, now demanding for price of 1.5 times the cost production for agricultural produce, complete loan waiver and to protest killings of the farmers in Madhya Pradesh at the hands of the police forces on June 6.

The police as for now been able to control the situation, it has stopped the Kisan Mukti Yatra and have arrested 100 of farmers along with the Yatra’s leaders.

“Police stopped Kisaan Mukti Yatra and arrested hundreds of farmers and farmer activist arrested near Piplia Mand,” tweeted Yogendra Yadav, national president, Swaraj India.

Those detained include: Raju Shetty MP, V M Singh, rampal Jat, Hannan Maula, Suhasini Ali, Medha Patkar, Paras Saklecha, Kalpana Parulekar.
