After the strings of raids and searches conducted at the houses and offices of P Chidambaram and Karti Chdambaram, the former finance minister had alleged the government with vendetta politics, saying that the government was only trying to take revenge as he criticized the Modi government. He further added that he and his son were just being targeted.
Disagreeing to the allegations of vendetta politics charged by Chidambaram, Arun Jaitley replied that the department does not take any action until and unless they have substantial basis and a reason to suspect that a crime has been committed. Further adding Arun Jaitley said that all those people in high positions who acquire assets through shell companies will be answerable to the government.
