Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that he is postponing his indefinite hunger strike demanding Full statehood for Delhi in wake of the prevailing Indo-Pak situation. Aam Aadmi Party National Chief Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘In view of prevailing Indo Pak situation, I am postponing my ‘upwas’ for full statehood of Delhi. We all stand as one nation today’.

Kejriwal tweeted hours after Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.

Kejriwal also lauded Indian Air Force for carrying out Air Strikes. He tweeted, ‘I salute the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots who have made us proud by striking terror targets in Pakistan’.

He further said ‘Soldiers entered Pakistan and targeted JeM camps. It was a very brave act. The entire country is feeling proud and I congratulate the forces. The entire country was with the government and the Prime Minister at this time. Strict action was needed’.

Earlier on February 23, Arvind Kejriwal while speaking in Delhi Assembly on Saturday said that he will start Indefinite Hunger Strike from March 1 for Full Statehood for Delhi. “From 1 March we will launch the movement to make Delhi a full state and we will not end it till Delhi gets full statehood” Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in Delhi Assembly.

Kejriwal added, ‘Democracy has been implemented in the entire nation, but not in Delhi. Public votes and select a government, but the government has no power. So we are starting a movement on March 1 and I will sit on indefinite fast for the full statehood Delhi’.

Aam Aadmi Party has intensified its Demand for Full Statehood with the Lok Sabha Elections approaching closer. Last Week, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it will hold a door-to-door campaign to tell people how the BJP had done them “injustice” on the issue.

The AAP has raised the full statehood demand again after the Supreme Court ruled on the matter of division of powers between the elected government and the Lieutenant Governor
