In line of the controversy surrounding the recent attack on Delhi Chief Secretary, the Advisor to Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal, VK Jain, resigned. Jain cited personal reasons and family commitments for his resignation submitted to the chief minister’s office.
His appointment as the advisor to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was made in last September.
The Delhi Governor was also sent a copy of his resignation letter. His signing out of the office comes days after being questioned in Delhi’s Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash case.
Jain was a close witness in the assault case. He reportedly told the court of his presence when Anshu Prakash was assaulted by AAP MLAs. Jain added that CM Kejriwal was also present when the assault took place. Following the statement made by Jain, AAP alleged that the CM’s advisor was forced to give this statement.
Meanwhile AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, one of the MLAs accused of assaulting Anshu Prakash, was released on bail.
