CM Sarbananda Sonowal says that BJP is more likely to win the general elections of 2019 than Congress as the Congress is losing its faith amongst the people.

Criticising Congress as well as the Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of Assam, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Congress party is losing its faith amongst people and that leaders like Mamata Banerjee have their ground in their own state.

Hitting out at the opposition parties in an interview with India Today, Sonowal states,”Mamata Banerjee is a senior leader in politics. The words and phrases she has used in her campaign in Assam recently is just a reflection that she has lost her own ground in West Bengal”. He goes on to say that he is quite sure of her losing the 2019 general elections.

He said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing a lot of useful things for the people and that the Modi government is expected to come to power in the upcoming elections.

Whereas criticising the present government former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had stated that there is no ‘Modi wave’ in the country now and that as people are robbed of jobs as well as their livelihood. Tarun Gogoi had also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never puts his words into action and that people like Sarbananda Sonowal are simply puppets of Modi who act according to his wishes.

He had also criticised the Sonowal government for allegedly paying the labourers at the tea gardens very less when their pay was increased to Rs. 350 per day.
