Shiv Sena Senior Leader, Sanjay Raut has been vocal about Maharashtra Government Formation with Congress and NCP. He has been the constant source of information regarding the updates of the government formation in Maharashtra. BJP- NCP alliance on Saturday came as a shock to him as well. He said ‘they have been backstabbed’ by NCPs Ajit Pawar.

He expressed his bitterness through media: “People of Maharashtra have been cheated. It was about trust of Maharashtra..you have used your money power to your advantage. Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar have got nothing to do with this. Sharad Pawar had no information. Ajit Pawar’s place is inside Arthur Road Jail and now he will be deputy CM. What happens in dead of night is evil.”

Sanjay Raut on Saturday morning said “His party had been stabbed in the back by Ajit Pawar. Till 9 pm this mahashay (person) was sitting with us and participating in discussions. He suddenly vanished. He was not meeting the eyes while talking, we could tell something was amiss. His phone was not available.”

Sanjay Raut in a tweet called BJP – NCP “Paap ke Saudagar”.

BJP – NCP government formation announcement came as a shock to NCP, Congress and especially Shiv Sena, who were dreaming of seeing their party Chief Udhhav Thacakerey as the CM of Maharashtra. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the second time while NCP’s Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Interestingly, Sanjay Raut was confident about Shiv Sena – Congress – NCP alliance government. He has been giving updates to the media regarding the progress. In an interview on Thursday Rawat said, “A new government in Maharashtra should be in place before December and a final decision on it will be taken in a day or two.”

When asked about an alliance with BJP, Sanjay Rawat on Friday said, “Shiv Sena won’t side with the BJP even if offered Lord Indra’s throne.” When talked about the reports of BJP agreeing to share the CM’s Post with Shiv Sena, he said, “The time for offers has ended.”

NCP chief Sharad Pawar was also confused with his nephew joined hands with BJP overnight, he said, “Ajit Pawar’s decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision and not that of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
We place on record that we do not support or endorse this decision of his.”

In a post on Friday, NCP Maharashtra President, Nawab Malik taunted the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is referred to as Chanakya of Politics. He said NCP Chief Sharad Pawar outwitted him in getting the Maharashtra Chair. But now everyone knows that Amit Shah is the real genius (Chanakya) who outwitted NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena along with the whole country.

The BJP- Shiv Sena government formation failed due to Shiv Sena’s stance on Chief Minister’s Post and equal seats at Cabinet. BJP won 105 seats in the 288-member assembly followed by Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44.
