A day after she passed comments on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Delhi President Ajay Maken, Barkha Singh has been sacked from the primary membership and all other posts she held within Congress party with immediate effect.
All India Manila Congress President, Shobha Oza announced this and said that Barkha Singh has been removed from the post of Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress’s President with immediate effect.
Before this, on Thursday, Barkha Singh had resigned from her post after saying that Rahul Gandhi is unfit to lead the party. In a letter, she had accused Rahul Gandhi of hiding and asked the reason of not meeting the party workers. She has also headed Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
Her letter to the media also accused Ajay Maken for misbehaving with the party workers. She also slammed Rahul Gandhi for ignoring the complaints against Ajay Maken made by party workers and termed him reluctant in addressing the internal issues arising within the congress party.
Ajay Maken has had a history of complaints against him since the time he was made President of Delhi Congress. He was picked as Congress CM Candidate in 2015 assembly elections of Delhi where Aam Aadmi Party had registered a landslide victory by winning 67 out of 70 seats. Congress could not even win a single seat in that election.
