narendra modi failures

May 26th, the central government has completed their 3 years in office. Amid a lot of hopes, it had assumed office in 2014 after winning a full majority. Last 3 years have been sort of a roller coaster ride for the government and country alike. Though we have a lot of achievements of the government to count, there are some fronts where the government has failed miserably.

In this article, I am summarising some of the points where modi government has failed to take initiatives or make a mark with the actions.

Border Security : Though the government has been successful in stopping cross border terrorism activities within the country, Indian soldier martyred tricolorit has failed to stop the activities on LOC. Continued ceasefire violation and regular casualties of Indian soldiers has made a lot of people angry over the current establishment in the centre. Despite giving a free hand to the army and increasing the defence budget, India has not left a decisive impression over the border security issue.

Maoists : Maoists in India still remain a big issue. Taking the advantage of dense forests and local support, Maoists have often had an upper hand on the security personnels. This has resulted in hundreds of casualties of CRPF and Police force. All the measures taken to eliminate this problem seem to have failed and CRPF still fights for its survival in naxal-hit areas.

Demonetisation : Though demonetisation was hailed by all sections of society as one of the boldest things to check black and illegal money circulation, it was not implemented in an efficient way. Half of Indian population stays in villages and majority of those people need to travel to other villages or nearby cities to avail bank facilities. Demonetisation made a big impact on such sections. Also, the fact that the announcement of this move came at the peak time of marriages and festivals, made a lot of people suffer. Being a cash rich market, India depends on cash transactions and one move had given nightmares to a lot of people.

Inflation : Despite falling crude prices, Indians still continue to pay a big price for petrol and diesel. Increased rates of food items, daily usable and other things which directly impact the common citizen, have resulted in imbalanced lifestyle and the common man continues to look for a solution.

Farmer suicides : The government has introduced a lot of schemes for the rural areas and farmers. However, no such thing has Indian farmer suicidesmade the life better for farmers. A lot of draught hit areas in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Aandhra Pradesh continue to see numbers of farmers committing suicide every day. Increased rates of loans, decreasing earning and smaller pieces of land are the issues farmers face on the biggest scale these days. Also, the fact that a lot of Indian farmers have very small piece of land or work on others’ land for their survival has caused big issues.

These are some of the most important issues currently, which need to be addressed. Though the government has worked a lot of various areas, it has failed to keep promises on the above mentioned things and hopefully, they will try to fix these soon.
