The protest for a separate statehood for the Gorkhas is reaching to new heights daily. In spite of police actions and CRPF regimes deployed in the hills of West Bengal, the passion for Gorkhaland does not seem to subside in the protesting Gorkhas.

GJM Chief Bimal Gurung went underground after raids were conducted at his residence, but almost after seven days he is back again with the determination to fight for Gorkhland still intact. He said that the fight for Gorkhaland will continue till his death. Bimal also announced the mass resignation of 43 members of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration and said that GJM will burn the GTA accord in Delhi on June 27.

The fight for the land has become like Gorkha vs Gorkha, as the protesting people are also Gorkhas and the security personals trying to stop the protesters are also Gorkhas. Both, the GJM and police have files FIRs against each other. GJP demanded a detailed CBI inquiry regarding the death of 3 GJM cadre on June 17 at Singhmari. On the other hand police has also filed murder cases against him and other party members.

Adamant on their demand of Gorkhaland, Bimal said that a delegation of few party members will be sent to Delhi to hold discussion with the Centre and seek for their intervention. Bimal will join the delegation in Delhi once the Centre is ready to talk.

GJM continuing the violence has asked all the schools to vacate within 12 hours and send all the students to safer regions of Siliguri and Rongpo.
