Biswabhushan Harichandan on Wednesday assumed office as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh replacing ESL Narasimhan who was there in the office for past one decade. Harichandan. He took oath in Vijaywada and was administered oath by Andhra Pradesh‘s High Court acting Chief Justice C Praveen Kumar.
BB Harichandan, an 84-Year-Old Politician, is a Jan Sangh Leader and was BJP State President in Odisha. He has also served as a Law Minister in the state. His was, last week, appointed as the governor of the Andhra Pradesh.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, his cabinet ministers, Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetaram, among others.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was also present in the swearing-in ceremony of the BB Harichandan.
Last week, BB Harichandan had said that he will try to solve crucial issues with Odisha. Responding to a question about various border issues of both the states, the newly appointed Governor said that he has a very limited role to play in. However, he added that he will be happy to if he could not anything to resolve a standoff between the two states.
While earlier in the day, the State Assembly was adjourned till 1 pm as the new governor was taking charge. Before the adjournment, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislators staged a walkout demanding a chance for it’s Chief Chandrababu Naidu to speak in the assembly.
Speaker did not accept the demand leading to the walkout by Telugu Desam Party legislators staging a walkout from the house.
Earlier on Tuesday, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu along with its MLAs walked out of the house opposing the move to suspend three of its legislators for obstructing the proceedings of the House. The three suspended members include K Atchannaidu, Gorantla Butchaiah
Chowdary and Nimmala Ramanaidu.
The budget session of the Assembly started on July 11 and will continue till July
30.
