BJPRajiv Pratap Rudy appointed as national spokesperson of BJP

BJP Chief Amit Shah has recently appointed Rajiv Pratap Rudy as the national spokesperson of the party with immediate effect.

The news came out when the national General Secretary of BJP Arun Singh issued an official letter informing about the decision.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls, Rudy had defeated Rabri Devi from Rashtriya Janata Dal in Bihar. Rudy, an MP from Bihar, was awarded an independent charge of Ministry of Skill, Development, and Entrepreneurship by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later in a cabinet reshuffle in 2017, he was dropped. He resigned on August 31, 2017.

The Ministry of Skill, Development, and Entrepreneurship was set up by the Modi government in 2014. The goal was to provide training and skill to about 50 crore candidates by 2022.

It is believed that Rudy was removed from his position because there were rumors of deterioration in the quality of training under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). Also, the candidates trained under the scheme were struggling to find jobs.

He, however, told the media that there was “nothing unusual” about his removal. He added that it was absolutely fine and he had worked in the organization earlier.
