As the D-day is nearing the election campaigning is getting intensified day by day in Gujarat, with both BJP and Congress playing the last inning of the game. Gujarat assembly polls will be held in two phases, the first phase will be held on 9 Dec and the second will be on 14 Dec.

With the first phase approaching rapidly, BJP is again gearing up playing its master card with getting Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in his home state as the star campaigner. The first phase of voting will be in Saurashtra and south Gujarat, and Modi will be addressing a number of rallies in this region on 27 and 29 Nov.

The former Chief Minister of Gujarat, who is believed to have a strong foothold in his home state, Narendra Modi is scheduled to address eight rallies in two days, covering almost the entire region of South Gujarat. BJP has always confidently projected Narendra Modi as the party’s national face and he also seems to be the one leader, depending on whom the party is claiming its victory.

Since 2014, when Narendra Modi was elected as the Prime Minister of India, the Modi wave have swiped the entire nation and so has it left its charm in Gujarat as well. But recently, with the people, a little discontent with demonetization and the faulty implementation of GST, the Modi wave is fading out. However, BJP is still confident that Modi’s charisma is not lost yet and his magic will surely get the victory in BJP’s pocket.

The last leg of the election campaigning in poll-bound Gujarat is termed as the Mann Ki Baat – Chai Ke Saath’.

Narendra Modi has been campaigning in Gujarat for the assembly polls and addressed quite a number of rallies. He is scheduled to return back to his home state on 27 Nov. As per the statement of Gujarat BJP in-charge Bhupender Yadav, on the first day of his tour, the Prime Minister will address people in Bhuj town of Kutch district and later in the day in Jasdan town of Rajkot, Dhari in Amreli and Kamrej in Surat district.

After a day’s break, Modi will than target Morbi and Prachi villages near Somnath, Palitana in Bhavnagar and Navsari in south Gujarat.

Along with the Prime Minister, several other BJP leaders are also scheduled to address poll rallies in different parts of Gujarat, where the first phase of the elections will be held. Among the prominent BJP leaders to lead the poll rallies are, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the Hindutva face of BJP, Yogi Adityanath and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Other than these leaders BJP national President Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, state BJP president Jitu Vaghani, former Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and national Vice President Purshottam Rupala will address gatherings.

Prior to Narendra Modi’s visit, as a warm-up session and setting the ground for the star campaigner, several prominent BJP members will be holding rallies across Gujarat on 26 and 27 Nov. The theme of the campaigning will be ‘Chai pe charcha’. The BJP members will be interacting with the people and workers across 50,000 booths in all the 89 constituencies. Tuning in and listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme “Mann ki Baat” will also be a part of this campaigning.

Bhupendra Yadav in his statement to the press informed that “Each rally has been organized so that people from five to six surrounding constituencies can participate.”
