Senior BJP leader P Muralidhar Rao has said on Tuesday that BJP alone can work towards the development in Telangana to make it at par with the rest of the developed states in the country.

While talking to reporters in Hyderabad, he informed that BJP President Amit Shah would be addressing a public meeting at Karimnagar and will also speak to booth committee presidents and other party leaders on Wednesday. “Karimnagar is an important district in north Telangana where BJP has always been seen as a strong force with a significant following,” Rao said.

“All have got an opportunity in the history of Andhra and Telangana so far. If the pace of development is to be accelerated in Telangana, the way it is happening in the country, only Bharatiya Janata Party can do it,” said the BJP general secretary.

Criticizing the current regime of TRS in the state he said that it has failed to do any development during a state in its rule. “If there is delay in matters of development, it was because of the TRS government,” he said.

He further went on to attack the Congress saying it has been incapable of working as an opposition unlike the rest of the country. He also accused the party of just wanting power rather than working for the welfare of people.

Talking about BJP’s vision for Telangana he said, “BJP considers Telangana as an important region for the future from its strategy point of view”. He further said, “Rs 2.52 lakh crore was given to the state on different subjects”. The party president would speak on the BJP’s commitment to the development of Telangana, he said.

This time BJP has decided to go alone in the Assembly polls in Telangana. Amit Shah had kicked off the party’s campaign earlier in Mahabubnagar last month.
