Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Monday walked into the residences of Bharatiya Janta Party Senior Leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi – both have been dropped by the Bharatiya Janata Party in a run-up to the General Elections 2019.

The meet of BJP Chief with its Senior Leader is seen as an attempt to pacify the ‘Upset’ Leaders.

LK Advani, a five-time parliamentarian has been replaced by the saffron party. The party has named Amit Shah from BJP’s Stronghold and LK Advani’s Seat Gujarat’s Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Seat.

While Murli Manohar Joshi has been replaced by Satyadev Pachauri from UP’s Kanpur Lok Sabha Seat. Joshi had in 2014 General Elections defeated Congress’ Candidate and Former Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal with over 2.5 lakh Votes. Earlier in 2009 Lok Sabha Polls, he had won from Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat but have to vacate the seat for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amit Shah’s visit to Senior party leaders came hours after Bharatiya Janata Party released party Sankalp Patra. Reportedly, Both Leaders were missing from BJP’s Manifesto Launch. Moreover, the Bharatiya Janta Party also dropped names of both the leaders from the party’s Star Campaigner List.

LK Advani had on April 4 wrote a Blog titled “Nation first, Party next, and self-last”. He said that “BJP never regarded those who disagree with us politically as our enemies. In our conception of Indian nationalism, we have never regarded those who disagree with us politically as anti-national.” He urged the party to “look back, look ahead and look within.”

LK Advani’s blog soon became a sharp tool for Opposition parties to attack Bharatiya Janata Party and PM Narendra Modi.

However, responding to the blog, Narendra Modi said, “Advaniji perfectly sums up the true essence of BJP, most notably the building mantra of ‘Nation first, party second, and self-last.’

The Bhartiya Janta Party in a run-up to the general elections 2019 has not given tickets to MPs having 80+ years of age and that includes, BC Khanduri, Kariya Munda, Kalraj Mishra, Bijoya Chakravarty, and LK Advani.
