Bhartiya Janta Party concluded its membership drive on 20 August. The pompous program of the party saw the addition of 3,78,67,753 crore new members. Now the total tally of Bhartiya Janta Party has touched a soaring figure of 14.78 crores.
BJP started its membership campaign on 6 July on Shyama Prasad Mookherjee’s birth anniversary. The program’s deadline was 11 August but due to the massive success of the drive, the window to enroll was increased up to 20 August. Around 55 lakh people in Uttar Pradesh and 15 lakh in Delhi joined the saffron party this year.
It has also been observed that many members have joined through Namo app. Dushyant Kumar Gautam, a party vice president lauded the membership drive’s success. He also informed media that as per the Constitution of BJP, they need to increase their membership by 20 percent.
With the end of this drive, the party had seen the inclusion of almost 1.6 crores more people under its banner than the original target of 2 crores.
