After sweeping the 2014 Lok Sabha and 2017 Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bhartiya Janata Party is now eying yet another victory in the state. With municipal elections just around the corner, Yogi Adityanath seems to have taken the charge of making it three victories in a row for the saffron party.

BJP is going to release a manifesto for the municipal elections for the first time. Also, Yogi Adityanath, the UP CM, who has gradually become one of the most sought-after BJP leaders in the recent times, will hold rallies in all the 16 municipalities ahead of the polls. The polls will be the first test of Yogi Adityanath’s popularity after he became the chief minister of the state. BJP has already concluded its first round of door-to-door campaigning in all the municipalities, however, it does not want to leave any stone unturned to make this victory a big one.

With manifesto and the first list of candidates expected early next week, the party has also started to plan the rallies of Yogi Adityanath in the newly formed municipalities in the cities of Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan. Last time in 2012, the party had won 11 out of 14 seats, however, according to the local leaders, the party is now targetting to win on all the 16 municipalities.

With BJP starting to get into the election mode again, opposition parties like Samajwadi Party and BSP have also started to work on their strategies. SP has already activated its local leaders to reach out to the voters and list of candidates from both the parties are expected in the coming days.
