Amid the ongoing crisis over Amarnath Yatra, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir President Ravinder Raina on Saturday called a meeting of the party core group in Srinagar. The party core group is likely to discuss the tense situation of the Jammu and Kashmir.

It should be noted that the valley is on alert after the administration on Friday issued an advisory to tourists and Amarnath Yatra pilgrims to cut down their stay in the valley. The advisory has been issued keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats.

Speaking to media, KJS Dhillon, Srinagar-based chinar corps commander Lt. General, told media that agencies have received inputs in last three-four days about possible terror attacks to disrupt Amarnath Yatra. He added that a thorough search operation has been carried out by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police on the routes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Chief, yesterday, had claimed that the Amarnath Yatra will continue as per original schedule till August 15. Raina had told ANI that the strong security measures have been taken and there is no atmosphere of fear, Amarnath Yatra will continue till August 15.

Earlier this week, BJP Working President JP Nadda chaired a high-level meeting with Jammu and Kashmir State core group discussing the political situation of the Valley.

Speaking to media after the meeting, BJP State Chief Ravindra Raina had claimed that his party is ready for Assembly Polls in the valley. He also directed all the party workers to gear up for the uphill task. Revealing about the party plans for polls, Raina added that he also held a discussion on party’s poll preparedness and finalize party poll strategy.

In the meantime, the poll commission has already announced that it will declare the election schedule for the state polls in Jammu and Kashmir after the conclusion of Amarnath Yatra.
