BJP has started with its campaign for the Gujarat Assembly elections, due later this year. The first agenda adopted for the election campaign is the launch of ‘vistarak’. Under this programme of BJP, each party vistarak (a full-time worker) will visit each of total 48,000 polling booths across the state, establishing direct contact with people.

The BJP party members will interact with the people listening to their problems and establishing connection with them. The programme was launched on Sunday, and will last till 5 June.

On the first day, all the 48,000 vistaraks, including state chief minister Vijay Rupani and state party in-charge Bhupender Yadav, visited their designated booths and listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann ki Baat radio programme with locals, stated a party release. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani interacted with the people at his designated booth and Bhupendra Yadav was present at the booth in Gandhinagar.

BJP president Amit Shah, will be visiting Gujarat on 31 May to participate in the campaign. He will be visiting a booth in tribal-dominated Chhota Udepur district as one of the vistaraks.
