In a major setback to Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh ahead of national elections 2019, its Member of parliament from Balaghat Parliamentary Seat Bodh Singh Bhagat on Tuesday announced his disassociation from the party after failed to get a ticket for the mega Polls 2019.

Bhagat, a former legislator from Khairlanji Assembly of Balaghat District, after announcing his resignation filed his nominations from the seat as an Independent Candidate in the mega battle of ballots.

His resignation came days after he has been replaced by Dhal Singh Bisen for Balaghat Parliamentary Seat. Bhagat claimed that he has done more work than Gaurishankar Bisen- the former MP from Balaghat. He further accused and Bisen of playing rolling in dropping his name from the seat.

Balaghat Parliamentary seat is a stronghold of the saffron party and has held the seat since 1998. In 2014 General Elections, Bodh Bhagat defeated Congress Candidate Hina Likhiram Kawre with over 90,000 votes.

BJP nominee for the seat for the mega battle of ballots Dhal Singh Bisen will take on Congress‘s Candidate Madhu Bhagat.

While in another development, BJP MLA RD Prajapati joined Samajwadi Party. Prajapati joined SP in presence of Akhilesh Yadav. Samajwadi party who has been in an alliance with BSP may field him against Union minister Virendra Khatik from Tikamgarh Seat.

Madhya Pradesh will have a direct fight between Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress. While BSP-SP combine has also fielded its Candidate.

Voting in 29 seats of Madhya Pradesh will across in 4 phases: April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.

General Elections 2019 has already started with Voting for Phase-I in 91 Constituencies across 20 States and UTs is underway.

In 2014 General elections, amidst heavy Modi wave, BJP swept MP with 27 seats, while Congress manage to bag only 2 seats in the state.
