Heads of Missions from 14 countries on Monday joined in an interaction with BJP President JP Nadda as part of the ‘Know BJP’ initiative. The interaction was held at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi.
Ambassadors of US, Australia, Canada, Israel, Denmark, Bhutan, Fiji, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Suriname and Dominican Republic attended the event. This event was hosted by the BJP Overseas Cell.

Convenor of BJP Overseas Cell Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale welcomed the Ambassadors. A short-film was shown on the inception of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the BJP and its journey from 2 to 303 MPs in the Lower House of Parliament.
The BJP President spoke about the importance of the day chosen to have the 2nd round of these meetings with the Ambassadors and High Commissioners. He said, “The day is Buddha Purnima and to mark the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the birth place of Lord Buddha in Lumbini, Nepal.”
Nadda said, “The day is marked as the 8th Anniversary when BJP first came to serve in the Union Government by winning full majority seats in Parliament with 282 seats in 2014.”
The BJP President spoke to the guests about the policies of the Modi Government as well as the party structure and its various departments.
As part of the ‘Know BJP Initiative’, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also shared with the Envoys the activities and programmes of the Party and the vision for New India.

Nadda had launched the exercise on the party’s Foundation Day on 6th of April specifically to address the overseas audience.
