World’s biggest political party, the BJP in its Telangana manifesto has made a proposal of distributing one lakh cows, free of cost, every year. BJP manifesto committee chairman NVSS Prabhakar told PTI, “The party has promised to distribute cows in villages at the time of festivals to those who want them”.

Prabhakar, an MLA from the state said that apart from cows there is another proposal to set up a ‘mini-India linguistic welfare board’. The board is said to work for the welfare of linguistic minorities who come to Hyderabad in search of livelihood.

The committee has also proposed to incorporate yoga in curriculum for schools and varsities if the party comes to power.

The manifesto committee of BJP had earlier proposed regulating the sale of liquor in the state, as there is an unrestricted sale which causes law and order problems in the state.

Few other proposals by BJP are to cancel the surcharge fares by state-run Road Transport Corporation (RTC) buses during festivals such as Diwali. Prabhakar also said that the party also promised free transport to those performing Deeksha and those who visit temples such as Sabarimala.

The manifesto will be released on November 12, before which it will be sent to the Election Commission for scrutiny. Telangana State Assembly elections will be conducted on December 7.
