After the tremendous victory of BJP in the recent panchayat, municipal council and municipal corporation elections held in Maharashtra, the party is confident of its victory if mid term elections were held.

Shive Sena has been an ally of the BJP in Maharastra from a long time, but recently due to few differences and after the victory of BJP in the civic polls, Shiv Sena has been threatening to withdraw its alliance from BJP. In response to these threats of Shiv Sena, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that BJP is ready for the mid term elections and the party is confident it will win without the support of its allies.

In his statement to the media, Fadnavis told that “When the farmers’ agitation was on, some were talking about bringing down the government or withdrawing support. The BJP is ready for midterm polls. If anyone wants to pull out support to the government and go for fresh elections, then we are ready for it. We will come back to power after the election.”

Reacting to this statement Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said that, BJP is just bringing up the topic of mid term elections, to avoid and divert the attention from the on going issue of farmers loan waiver. He further alleged that if BJP has got extra money for the elections, why dont the use the money to help the farmers. Thackery also threatened that if the demands of the farmers were not met by the BJP, Shiv Sena will bring a political earthquake in Maharashtra.

Amid the issues between Shiv Sena and BJP, BJP president Amit Shah will be visiting Thackey during a three day visit to Mumbai, to hold discussions on Presidential election.
