Prem kumar dhumal

Bhartiya Janata Party‘s move to project Prem Kumar Dhumal as the candidate for chief minister in the upcoming polls has surely made sure that the party is going to retain its seats in Hamirpur and Bilaspur. Hamirpur is the home district of Prem Kumar Dhumal and BJP will try its best to retain a maximum number of seats in the district. Also, Bilaspur, considered to be the stronghold of JP Naddha, the union minister, will add to the worries of Congress.

Congress has been campaigning in these constituencies aggressively, however, the projection of Dhumal as CM candidate will leave Congress guessing about their next strategy. SS Thakur, state congress head is contesting from Nadaun constituency. BJP Rebel Lekh Raj, who is said to have a stronghold in the people of this region, will contest independently.

Projecting Dhumal as CM candidate has surely disappointed JP Naddha faction, who wanted to see him as the candidate. However, the organised BJP leadership is unlikely to let it become a big deal. The senior leadership of BJP has been on its toes in the state and it seems enough to bring all the kaaryakartas onto a single platform to campaign for the party and not for a particular candidate.

Himachal Pradesh will have polls conducted on 9th November with 18th December being the day of vote counting and result announcement.
