Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought an apology from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for allegedly making personal and professional remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and talking about abandonment of his wife in public.

Today Mayawati while addressing to ANI said that women leaders in BJP are afraid of their husband’s meeting Modi as they fear being abandoned by their husbands just like Prime Minister Narendra Modi abandoned his wife.

While talking to ANI, Mayawati said, “I came to know that in BJP married women leaders are scared that if their husbands are meeting Modi, he might separate them from their husbands the way he left his own wife.” She appealed to all the women not to vote for Modi adding that their vote will be a tribute to Modi’s wife who was abandoned.

Mayawati claims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi left his wife of vested political gains.

After demanding an apology from Mayawati BJP assured that the “women in the ruling party are absolutely safe secure and have a good professional relationship with other leaders in the party.”

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took over Mayawati’s statements in a shock and said, “it is absolutely disappointing and shocking for my way to speak so ill about the Prime Minister and his personal life including the women in BJP.”

She added that Mayawati has the demeaned the status of her own leadership and because of this comment, she has portrayed that there is no respect of any position or institution of this country for her. She added that Mayawati should apologize for commenting on the private life of a prime minister and in general about women in the party.

Nirmala Sitharaman also said that the statement made by Mayawati is because of ‘her sense of insecurity’ because after the 6th phase of the election she cannot see herself winning even after the grand alliance or Mahagathbandhan.

While speaking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi Mayawati undeterred said that Prime Minister remained silent on the Alwar gang rape case. She added that “after I spoke on the matter he started his filthy politics for political gains.” She also added that Prime Minister remained silent on the atrocities against the minority community and the Dalits.

She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no values. “He does not know how to respect the sisters and daughters of others as he has left his own wife for his best political interest,” Mayawati added.

The country has witnessed six phases of the Lok Sabha polls. The last and the seventh phase will be held on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23.
