BJP’s official website hacked; No group claims responsibility

The official website of the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) was taken down by unknown hackers on Tuesday. No hacker group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

Moreover, an official response from the party is awaited.

The website had not been restored even after 4-5 hours of the alleged hacking.

It remains offline with this message from the admin which reads: “We’ll be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. We’ll be back online shortly!”

The website admin has, however, since added a logo of the party with the tagline ‘The Party With A Difference’ above the message.

Multiple social media users reported about it and shared screenshots of an unflattering meme featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

That meme pokes fun at clip in which German Chancellor Angela Merkel walks past the prime minister as he extends his hand, expecting her to shake it.
