BJP-SenaBJP Survey Predicts 42 Maharashtra Seats With Sena Support In 2019 Lok Sabha Polls

A recent internal survey carried out by the Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) has made certain significant predictions about the party’s performance in upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019.

The survey revealed that the party can repeat its 2014 performance in the general elections provided it builds a pre-poll alliance with Shiv Sena.

Sources have told that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance can grab a whopping 42 out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.

Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray, however, has repeatedly expressed his unwillingness to form an alliance with BJP.

A minister on the condition of anonymity told that even if Shiv Sena refuses to form an alliance, BJP will continue to be the single-largest party in the country, but with fewer seats than in 2014.

The survey also predicted that Shiv Sena will not bag more than 4-5 seats.

In Lok Sabha Polls 2014, the duo bagged 40 seats in Maharashtra, with BJP at 22 and Shiv Sena at 18. While Congress could only secure two seats, NCP won five.

The survey also underlined that if the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is not formed, BJP would only secure 18-20 seats, while the Congress-NCP alliance could bag 22-24 seats in the state.

Also, the BJP Chief Amit Shah recently visited Mumbai for a meeting with CM Devendra Fadnavis in regards with wanting an alliance with Shiv Sena.

What Shiv Sena has to say

On the internal survey of BJP, Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande said that her party has nothing to do with the survey. She added that the survey might predict only seats for the party, but the day of the results, everybody would see Sena’s performance.

She said that Shiv Sena’s future course of action has been chalked out Party Chief Uddhav Thackeray.

She also clarified that the authority to decide if Sena would form an alliance with BJP or not lies with Thackeray.
