Karnataka Chief Minister-in-waiting BS Yeddyurappa on Tuesday announced that he will meet Governor Vajubhai Vala after meeting with party high command. He made the announcement soon after JDS-Congress government led by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy lost the confidence vote in the State Assembly.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President BS Yeddyurappa, a CM Designate, claimed it as a victory of democracy and said that people in the state were fed up with HD Kumaraswamy led coalition government.

Responding to questions on reporters, BJP State Chief said, “I will meet and discuss with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and (party) All India president Amit Shah ji, afterwords I will meet governor”. Chief Minister designate also thanked 105 MLAs of the party who stood by him and the party “rock solid”, in defeating the Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy trust vote.

Slamming the coalition government, Yeddyurappa said that people in the state were fed up with the Kumaraswamy government, He assured the people of Karnataka saying that ‘new development for the state will begin with the formation of BJP government’.

We can assure the people of Karnataka that our government will be working and giving importance to the farmers who are suffering from drought.

He added that once his government takes over, it would take an appropriate decision at the earliest.

After 4 day-long debate on a Confidence motion, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy led coalition government on Tuesday fell after it suffered a defeat in the floor test of the assembly.

“Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has lost the floor test, as 99 votes were in favor of the confidence motion and 105 against it,” Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar told the members of the House after the trust vote.

With 20 MLAs defying the party whip and were absent for the floor test, the strength of the 225-member Karnataka Assembly was reduced to 204 with 103 as the halfway mark for a simple majority.
