Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati will hold a rally in the national capital on May 10 to seek votes for her party candidate Rajveer Singh. Singh speaking to media said that BSP Supremo will address a rally at the Ramlila Maidan near GTB hospital in North East Delhi.

Singh who will be in an electoral contest for the first time will be taking on sitting BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, AAP‘s Dilip Pandey. While Congress has named its DPCC Chief and three-term Chief Minister Sheila Dixit for the mega polls.

Responding to a query of a scribe that BSP will vote into AAP vote share, Singh slammed AAP and said that the Delhi ruling party have no presence in the area since they have done nothing.

The Lucknow Headquartered Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has fielded candidates from all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital for Lok Sabha Polls 2019. However, the nominations of two of its candidates got rejected.

The Bahujan Samaj Party has been contesting assembly elections in Delhi since 1993 but it was only in 2003 that the party had fielded candidates from all 70 assembly seats.

After 2003, the party has named its candidates on all 70 seats. The party had in 2008 won two assembly seats in the national capital. The party since 2004 has been contesting Parliamentary Elections. However, the party has never won a seat in Delhi.

Singh further said that BSP patriarch Late Kanshiram had in 1998 contested from the area. At that time, delimitation of the North East constituency had not taken place. The parliamentary seat came into existence in the year 2009. In 2009 National Elections, Congress JP Aggarwal won the seat by defeating BJP BL Sharma.

Currently, the seat is represented by BJP Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari. BSP in Delhi will be taking on Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress. All 7 seats of Delhi will vote on May 12.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
