The central government is set to reshuffle the cabinet and the new faces will take oath on Sunday Morning at 10 AM. In the morning today, The Indian Wire had reported that the BJP administration might arrange the oath taking ceremony on Sunday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind will be busy with their respective responsibilities in the coming week. Narendra Modi will be travelling to China and Ram Nath Kovind has pre-scheduled programmes away from the national capital.

Though the names of new ministers are yet to be disclosed, highly places sources in BJP and the government have confirmed that a swearing-in ceremony will take place in Rashtrapati Bhawan on Sunday at 10 AM. This is going to be the third cabinet reshuffle since Narendra Modi assumed office in May 2014. Yesterday, the prime minister had met Amit Shah, the party president and according to the sources, the meeting was to put a final confirmation on the reshuffle. Post meeting the Prime Minister, Amit Shah had also met a number of cabinet and junior ministers and at least 5 of them have been asked to resign.

The cabinet reshuffle is set to feature a number of legislatures from the parties which have joined NDA recently. According to sources, JD(U) is set to get 2 of its legislators sworn in as ministers, whereas, the government might also include a couple of names from AIADMK.

Names including Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Uma Bharti, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Sanjeev Balyan have either resigned or have been asked to resign. Along with this, there are speculations that Suresh Prabhu might get a new portfolio and Nitin Gadkari might get the extra responsibility of railways. Also, Arun Jaitley will most likely shed his extra responsibility of defence ministry.
