Mulayam Singh Yadav

The distances between Father-Son duo of Samajwadi party do not seem to go away just yet. The dispute among top leadership of Samajwadi Party is nowhere hidden since last couple of months and Mulayam Singh lashed out on Akhilesh Yadav over the alliance with Congress, quoting that Samajwadi party is able to win elections on its own. Hours after the joint press conference of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, Mulayam Singh had ruled out campaigning for the joint alliance, however, Akhilesh Yadav had later said that former SP chief will surely campaign for them.

However, on Friday, ANI quoted Mulayam Singh saying that he will start campaigning for UP Polls on February 9th, ahead of the first round of polls on February 11th. Mulayam Singh said campaigning for Shivpal was a priority for him then campaigning for Akhilesh and that he will campaign for Akhilesh ‘later’.

Shivpal Yadav has been ousted from the party and after missing out from the list of star campaigners for SP, he had told the media that he was contesting and campaigning for himself in the elections. He has even threatened to float his own political party after the election results.

UP Assembly Polls will start from February 11 and take place in 4 rounds. The counting of votes will take place on March 11.
