CBI questions Delhi Deputy CM Sisodia in liquor scam for 9 hours, AAP says CBI has no proof of corruption against him

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam for about 9 hours on Monday. After the interrogation was over, Sisodia spoke to the media outside his residence. He claimed that during interrogation he was pressured to leave the Aam Aadmi Party. Agency officials advised him to join the BJP, as well as offered to make him the CM, which he refused.

Sisodia claimed that all the cases are fake, the CBI had not called me for questioning in the case but through the process of Operation Lotus. I was told that if you do not join the BJP, then these cases will continue like this. Deputy CM said, on this, “I said that the cases are baseless, they will end like this. So I got the answer that there are fake cases against Satendra Jain too, but he is also in jail for 6 months.”

I was told that if you join the BJP then you have many advantages. We will make you CM, I said that I have not entered politics to become CM. My aim is to do good work for the education of Delhi. I love it when the son of a rickshaw puller becomes an engineer.

Sisodia had reached the CBI office at 11.15 am and left the place at around 8.50 pm. According to media reports, the agency has not called Sisodia for questioning yesterday. As soon as he reached the CBI office, he was taken to the first floor of the Anti-Corruption Branch. According to CBI officials, the other accused named in the FIR were questioned about their relationship and documents found during the search.

As soon as the inquiry began, Kejriwal tweeted, “Gujarat results will be out on December 8. These people will keep Manish in jail till then. So that Manish does not campaign in Gujarat elections.”

AAP leaders protesting outside the CBI office have been taken into custody by the Delhi Police. MP Sanjay Singh is also among the detained leaders.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “nowadays a new trend has started. When the corrupt are called to question and answer, they first go to Rajghat that they will conduct Satyagraha. There is no match between Satyagraha and corruption. This is a gross insult to Bhagat Singh ji and Mahatma Gandhi ji.”

Briefing media, AAP MLA Atishi said, CBI has no proof of corruption against Manish Sisodia. She said, AAP is an honest political party.
