The Chief Electoral Officer of the national capital on Thursday has sought replies from three top AAP leaders – Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Candidates Raghav Chadha and Atishi for making their tweets asking voters ‘not to waste their votes’ by voting for BJP candidates Gautam Gambhir and Ramesh Bidhuri claiming that they will be ‘disqualified’ soon.

It should be noted that AAP Candidate Atishi slamming Gautam Gambhir over allegations of dual voter ID Card asked voter not to vote for him. Atishi had on April 26 took to Twitter and said, “My appeal to the citizens of East Delhi Lok Sabha – please don’t waste your vote by voting for @GautamGambhir; he is going to get disqualified sooner or later for having two Voter ID cards!”

While on the same allegation AAP Chief quoting a tweet said, ‘Voters shud not waste their vote on someone who will get disqualified soon.’

It should be noted that Atishi has approached the Tiz Hazari Court on the Issue. Delhi Court had on May 1 ask Atishi to give more details/proof on her complaint against Gautam Gambhir. 

Gautam Gambhir in a run-up to the national elections is pitched against AAP’s Atishi from Delhi East Lok Sabha Seat. While the Indian National Congress has named Arvinder Singh Lovely for the mega battle from Delhi East Lok Sabha Seat.

While the Poll Officials have also sought an explanation from Raghav Chadha who is contesting from Delhi South Lok Sabha Seat. Chadha has been asked by the Poll Official for retweeting a tweet of AAP chief who has mentioned in the tweet that Bidhuri will be disqualified.

The Poll Officials has sought replies from the AAP leaders on how they can pre-empt the disqualification of Gambhir and Bidhuri.

AAP National Chief Arvind Kejriwal had on April 27 tweeted, “Charges against Ramesh Bidhuri are very serious. He is sure to be disqualified. South Delhi voters should not waste their vote on him.”

AAP has alleged that Ramesh Bidhuri in his nomination papers has concealed important information. Raghav Chaddha last week filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the decision of the Returning Officer in which nomination papers of BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri were wrongly accepted despite concealment of important facts.

Raghav Chadha in a run-up to the national elections 2019 is taking on sitting MP Ramesh Bidhuri from Delhi South Lok Sabha Seat. Congress has named boxer Vijender Singh for South Delhi parliamentary seat.

Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital is contesting on all seven seats. In a run-up to the polls 2019, the party has named Atishi Marlena from Delhi East, Raghav Chaddha from Delhi South, among others for the mega battle of ballots.

Aam Aadmi Party in a run-up to the mega polls will take on Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress. 

All 7 parliamentary seats of the national capital will go to polls on May 12.
