Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday slammed the Union Budget 2019, presented by Nirmala Sitharaman earlier in the day, calling it ‘Disappointing’. Naidu said the Union Budget failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Calling the Budget ‘Disappointing’, Naidu said, ‘The Union Budget did not address the problems of the people living the Andhra Pradesh. The Centre has allocated Budget for the North East States but ignored Andhra Pradesh, who is facing serious financial crisis’.

He added that the Centre totally ignored the issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu added, ‘In her (Nirmala Sitharaman) Budget speech, the Union Finance Minister said that Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) will be introduced in the country. This is the only good thing’.

He said our government in the last five years has given utmost importance to ZBNF. This the welcome step from the Union Government.

Further slamming the Union Budget 2019, Naidu stated that Centre also ignored Top Educational Institutes and said not even a single paisa allocated for Educational Institutions like IIT, NIT, IIM, and IIIT.

He also raised questions for decreased allocation for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA).

Talking about MNREGA, Former Andhra CM said Government should remember that infrastructures like Anganwadi Buildings, Panchayat Buildings, and Farm Ponds are developed only with MNREGA Funds.

He further attacked the Union Government for stalling the budget of Polavaram and Amaravati Project. He said the same has happened with metro projects of Vizag and Vijayawada.
