A pre-poll survey conducted by Times Now-CNX depicted a party wise seat prediction in which the BJP is supposed to get the majority of seats. The opinion poll shows that the incumbent party will be winning 50 seats, one seat more than what it got in 2013 elections.

The situation of Congress seems bleak as the survey suggests that the Congress may lose around 9 seats. The party got 39 seats in 2013 elections. While the Congress was looking to form an alliance with Mayawati’s BSP in Chattisgarh, the latter ditched Congress and went onto form an alliance with Ajit Jogi’s Janta Congress.

In 2013 elections, Ajit Jogi could manage to win only one seat. But the current pre-poll survey depicts a total of 9 seats for the BSP-JCC alliance. It is possible that the addition of seats is mainly because of BSP joining the JCC. The BSP-JCC alliance might play a spoiler for Congress as its vote base can likely be turned towards Mayawati.

If the pre-poll is to be believed then CM Raman Singh is all set to be selected for the record fourth term in the state who is in power since 2003.

The Vote share of BJP is also likely to increase by 1.16% while that of Congress is likely to slip by 3.08%. This increase in the vote share of BJP is enough for the party to retain power in the state. The BSP-JCC alliance gain a vote share by 2.11%.

Chattisgarh has 90 assembly seats out of which 18 constituencies are going to polls in the first phase on November 12.
