Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. Baghel had earlier skipped PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on May 30.

We hope that the Central Government will continue to support the development of the country and the region’, tweeted Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel after meeting PM.

Further talking to media after meeting PM Narendra Modi, Baghel said that he demanded 100% fund from the Central for the development work in the Naxalite affected areas as the state used to get during UPA time.

He later in the day attended 5th NITI Aayog meeting. ‘The fifth meeting of the Governing Council chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. I am happy that in this important meeting, the concept of ‘Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari’ of Chhattisgarh was appreciated by the Chief Ministers of all other states’, Bhupesh Baghel said in a tweet.

Speaking at the 5th NITI Aayog council meeting, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, ‘It is a matter of happiness that the functioning of the NITI Aayog is providing continuous support and guidance to various States to strengthen ‘cooperative federalism’ in line with the great Constitution of our country’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the fifth meeting Niti Aayog’s Governing Council on June 15. However, this was his first meeting after storming back to power in the recently held national polls.
