Congress Legislative Party (CLP) SG Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that the party will approach the Assembly Speaker seeking disqualification of all the rebels and would request him not to accept their resignation.

In a press Conference, Former Karnataka CM said, ‘Karnataka Congress is seeking disqualification of members for their anti-party activity. All the rebels have colluded with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He added that he requested them to come back and withdraw their resignation.

SG Siddaramaiah added that they have decided to file a petition before Assembly Speaker to disqualify all the rebels and request him to not accept the resignation. He further said that they will request the assembly speaker to take action against all the under the anti-defection law.

‘We are requesting him in our letter to not only disqualify them but also bar them from contesting election for 6 years’, SG Siddaramaiah added in the press conference.

Slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party, SG Siddaramaiah said people have given the mandate to us.

‘It has been a habit of BJP to destabilize the govt. This is undemocratic, people haven’t given a mandate to BJP to form the govt. People have given more votes to us. Both JD(S) and Congress together got more than 57% of votes’, said SG Siddaramaiah added in the press.

Accusing the Central Leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party, Siddaramaiah said ‘This time not only state BJP wing but also national level leaders like Amit Shah & Mr. Modi are involved’. Accusing the BJP behind Karnataka crisis, He added that on the directions of all senior leaders, efforts are been made to topple the Coalition government.

‘It’s against democracy and people’s mandate. They are offering money, position, ministership’, he further alleged.

The quick turn of events comes days after 11 MLAs from Congress–JD(S) ruling coalition meet Assembly Speaker on Saturday and tendered their resignation giving a big blow to the coalition government.

With the resignation of 11 MLAs of Congress-JDS and 2 Independent MLAs, the coalition government reduced to a minority with 104 MLAs which is 9 less than the required figures.

Lawmakers including Ramalinga Reddy, Anand Singh, BC Patil, H Vishvanath, Narayan Gowda, Shivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumathalli, Gopalaiah, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Pratap Gowda Patil among others have submitted their resignations. The Assembly Speaker has yet not taken a call.
