Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday dismissed reports about the rift within the AIADMKBJP Alliance. Responding to a query by a reporter about the bitter relation between the two parties, Palaniswami said, ‘Media is creating unnecessary confusion over the issue. We still have an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and there is no change in that’.

Reportedly AIADMK who won a single seat in an alliance with the BJP from Tamil Nadu was reportedly upset after it failed to get a cabinet berth in the Modi Cabinet 2.0.

Slamming opposition for creating unnecessary confusions, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said Where did I support three Language policy, I only requested to include Tamil as an optional language in other states, That was my tweet.

Earlier Palaniswami in a tweet requested PM Narendra Modi to include Tamil as an optional language in curriculum across India. However, he later deleted his tweet.

His tweet came at the time when the Narendra Modi-led Centre has forced to revise the Draft National Education Policy that suggested three language formula. The move has sparked a controversy with Opposition parties claiming that this is nothing but imposition of Hindi.

In 2019 National Education Policy, a three language formula recommended English and Hindi in non-hindi speaking states besides Mother Tongue. While in the Hindi Speaking States, it suggested the inclusion of English and other Indian Language from other parts of the nation.

Similar rift came to the forefront in Bihar, when BJP ally JD-U opted out of Cabinet race hinting that the party was willing to have more berth than it is been offered by the BJP.

Nitish Kumar had on May 30 announced not to be a part of Narendra Modi-led Union Cabinet saying that BJP’s offer of one ministerial berth in the cabinet is not acceptable.

When I was told one ministerial berth will be given to JD(U), I said we don’t need it but I’ll ask my party. I asked everyone, they said it’s not appropriate that we show only symbolic participation when we’re together. We’re together, not upset’, Kumar said as quoted by ANI.
