Goa ailing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday hit out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi. In his letter to Congress President, Parrikar said, ‘I feel let down that you have used this visit for your petty political gains. In the 5 minutes you spent with me, neither did you mention anything about Rafale, now did we discuss anything related to it.’

Goa Chief Minister has written a letter to Congress President a day after Rahul Gandhi quoted CM as said, ‘CM Parrikar told him(Rahul) that he had nothing to new Rafale Deal. While addressing a rally in Cochin. Rahul Gandhi, reportedly said, ‘Friends, the ex-defence minister Mr Parrikar clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the new deal that was orchestrated by Mr Narendra Modi to benefit Anil Ambani’.

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi, in a rally at Cochin alleged, Gandhi alleged that the new deal on the acquisition of the fighter jets was “orchestrated” by the Prime Minister in order to “benefit” businessman Anil Ambani.

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday walked into the office of ailing Goa CM Parrikar on Tuesday. Gandhi had later stated that it was meant to be a “personal visit” to the Goa Chief Minister. Earlier this week, on Monday, Rahul Gandhi in a tweet, raised Rafale ‘Goa-Audio’ tapes and said ‘No FIR/ investigation has been initiated against the minister’ while referring to Goa Chief Minister.

The state Unit of Bhartiya Janta Party also asked the Congress President ‘not to politicize a courtesy visit’. Goa ministers of Panchayat, said, ‘It was not the right thing for Rahul Gandhi to do’.

Goa Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar who was present at the meeting claimed that issue didn’t arise in the brief meeting between Goa CM Parrikar and Congress President Gandhi. No, there was nothing like that. It is Rahul’s totally private visit. He only inquired about his health. He told the MLAs said he will make another visit to discuss party-related issues. Maybe next month,” Kavlekar said when asked by media persons.

Earlier, BJP Lawmaker Narendra Sawaikar said that ‘Parrikar doesn’t need any Certificate from Congress President’.
