Prime Minister took for a second visit to the poll-bound state of Karnataka within a fortnight. Addressing a BJP workers rally where he said that the state government cannot progress under the Congress rule.

In Mysuru he called for replacing the commission-driven Government of Congress with a mission-driven BJP Government of the BJP. Furthermore, he added that the Siddaramaiah Government was substantially corrupt. Each day a new scam and irregularity emerge.

“Karnataka does not require ‘Commission’ government but a ‘Mission’ government led by the BJP which will ensure all-round progress of the state. Congress has ruined the state and people will teach them a lesson in these elections,” he said.

Earlier this month he said that the Congress Government in the State demands ten percent commission for all the works. Mr Modi said he received calls from people telling that the commission was more than ten percent.

He added that Centre is providing funds to the State Government but the state is not utilizing it for development. They don’t have it as their priority. Their only priority is to keep their bosses in Delhi happy. What they want is to save their seats.

PM Modi announced the expansion of 117 km-long section of Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway to six lanes at an estimated cost of Rs 6,400 crore. Also, a new world-class satellite railway station will be set up near Mysuru at an estimated cost of Rs 800 crore.

Modi said, “The new multi-storied station will share the burden of Mysuru railway station, along with increasing the frequency of new trains in the regions. The new installation will be a boost to connectivity and in turn help in employment generation.”

The prime minister along with CM Siddaramiah flagged off the Palace Queen Humsafar Express connecting Mysuru to Udaipur in Rajasthan. He also commissioned the newly electrified railway line between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
