Prime minister Narendra Modi in his exclusive interview to Times Now editor in chief Rahul Shivshankar expressed his faith in the Indian voters that they will cast their vote in his favor. He targeted Congress saying that the party is fighting the 2019 elections on the least number of seats after Independence. Congress has no candidate to field for the contest of elections.

The specialty of 2014 Lok Sabha elections was that Congress received the lowest tally after the independence. He said that the specialty of 2019 Lok Sabha elections is that Congress is fighting elections on the lowest number of seats in the parliament. Congress has no candidates for the nominations.

When asked about if he can still see the Modi wave after five years of rule, PM Modi said I will first like to thank the voters and Election Commission who have dedicated the time and their support to us in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that I would like to especially thank Jammu and Kashmir for the peaceful voting carried out there in spite of the region being terror-prone. He said that West Bengal is a challenge to our Democracy today. He said according to the five years of governance and the initiatives taken by the government under our rule, I am determined that people have true faith in the working of the BJP government. People have trust in our schemes. He said that people are supporting BJP now more than ever.

Editor in chief asked PM Modi that The hope that was reflected in people’s eyes before the 2014 elections, has lost somehow because of the disappointments of the Modi government in the last five years. He deferred the claims saying that this time Self-confidence is reflected in the eyes of the people. In the previous elections people had a rage for the Congress government, but this time they have more hopes from BJP government.

Asked about his rallies during the time of elections and the propaganda while addressing the people PM Modi said: “Its an injustice to me to say that I am doing rallies for elections.” He said that “since my 18 years of political influence, I have been connected to people on the ground level.” He also added that my rallies in these elections are “thanksgiving” to the people of the country for supporting me throughout five-years of the rule.

Times Now editor asked PM Modi that according to the professionals, people accuse demonetization of increasing unemployment and that economic growth is affected. People are highly dissatisfied on the promise of 10 crore jobs. Demonetization has faced criticism from the opposition. Will you be able to justify it to the opposition.

PM Modi said that Demonetization analysis cannot be done through the eyes of corrupt people. It has to be seen through the eyes of poor and government employees. The low wage workers, MSME workers have faced at the hands of Demometization. Don’t you think that It had collateral damage? He said that the poor people might have faced inconvenience for some time, but it is an ultimate assurance for the betterment of the economic growth. He said that the criticism is politically motivated by a few oppositions and the corrupt people, and for personal gains.

When asked who is the biggest threat and challenger to PM Modi among the opposition, Chandrababu Naidu, Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, he said That Modi is challenged by Modi himself. He said that “I am Challenging myself that in the upcoming five years, I should increase the pace of development for the general people of the country.” He said that “I have brought the World closer to India in five years. I am planning how to go along with the world in the next five years.”

Rahul Gandhi has a different model of governance by promising the farmers’ loans, subsidies, unity in the states, what do you have to say on this. Narendra Modi justified his governance saying, there are two governance styles in the country. PM Modi said that after independence there have been different models of governance. He said that I would like the political pundits, think Tanks and economists to think about this. One has been the Left and the other is the dynastic politics followed by Congress, third are the people who are from Congress at the base but joined different parties and alliances and the fourth is BJP.

He said that the work done by the party should be measured on the parameters of their ethics, ethos, performance, leadership qualities. He said that “Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of thinking about the general people will make a difference.” He said that “we govern the country and not for the party.

Jagan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh and KCR in Telangana have said that BJP shall come to power but with less majority and the new alliance will be needed. In the Hindi heartland, 2014 Lok Sabha elections saw BJP won with Majority, but after incumbency, BJP might have to lose some seats. BJP has focused on West Bengal for the elections.

PM Modi dismissed the claims saying that BJP will win with a majority, NDA will have an increase in tally and states will have an increase in the vote share. PM Modi said that East India should be given a supreme owner because it is rich in mineral resources. To do this, Kolkata is the part of the bright future of India. Talking about the Jammu and Kashmir elections, Narendra Modi said that not even one violence event has been reported after being the terror-prone area. However, West Bengal is walking towards violence that has been seen in Lok Sabha elections and in assembly elections

On corruption, PM Modi said that people have gained hopes for the removal of corruption who at once gave up on the corruption.

How did you consider the different variable in Balakot Airstrike, the aftermath of Pulwama?

Answering about Pulwama attack, PM Modi said that people supported Modi Ji. He said that if similar actions were taken after the 26/11 attack by the UPA government, India would not have faced Pulwama. Taking an instance of 9/11 attack, PM Modi said that America showed strength after the attack and no such incidents have taken place since then. He said that nationalism is more important than dedication to a party.

Talking about the strategic restraint abolishment, and a provocation to provocation acceptance, PM Modi said that strategic restraint is a term to personal incapabilities. India will take its independent decisions.

On the opposition’s response about the Balakot evidence, PM Modi said that questions should be asked by Pakistan and not by our countrymen. It is unfortunate in our country that our men are asking of the evidence. On the topic of evidence, PM Modi said that the announcement was made by Pakistan, and if nothing happened, why would Pakistan make an announcement?

Talking about the Citizenship Bill, PM Modi said that highly secular people have a problem of giving communal colors to everything. Alleging Congress that they promise NRC 30 years back and fooled the people of West Bengal. BJP directed the orders of the Supreme Court on the citizenship bill. He said that questions should be asked to the 7- years government, who did not make a register for the citizens of its country

When Sadhvi Pragya was given the ticket from BJP it is giving a negative touch to BJP, He said that people convicted by the courts are meeting corrupt people, if Amethi candidate is on bail there is no question, Rae Bareilly candidate is on bail there is no question, then why there are questions on BJP candidate.

PM Modi said that as soon as Congress came into power, several cash seizures have been made in the state. Congress will take the country back to corruption and thus it is important to choose the right government for the country.
