In the wake of two brutal murders in the broad daylight in Telangana, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has asked the Election Commission to intervene and take charge of the state police from the ruling K C Rao’s government. Referring to the murders that took place in Hyderabad and Erragada, he said that instead of ‘Bangaru Telangana’ the streets of the state have become ‘slaughter houses’.  Few days ago a man was axed to death in broad daylight at Attapur in Hyderabad.

The TPCC Chief spokesperson, Sravan Dasoju, while addressing the reporters censured the crime and said “The brutality and fearlessness with which the murder was committed clearly shows that the fear for law and police has vanished from the streets of Telangana. A similar incident took place in broad day light in Erragadda a few days ago. Instead of protecting the lives of common people, Telangana police is busy in pleasing the bosses of the ‘pink party”.

As the state is going to hold its next assembly elections in a months time, TPCC spokesperson demanded that the police be taken out of the hands of the care taker CM K C Rao so that a fair election and can be conducted in the state.

He also said that the crime rate has increased in the state while citing the Data of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). He also accused the KCR government of misusing the police to trouble the members of opposition parties. He also alleged that KCR used the Intelligence Department to his own advantage by making them conduct surveys to know the TRS’ popularity among the masses.

The Telangana assembly was dissolved earlier this month on the recommendations of K Chandrasekhar Rao, who was appointed as caretaker Government by the governor of the state. The EC has said that currently the care taker government cannot take any major policy decision or announce any government schemes.
