A latest ‘cash for votes’ allegations surfaced in Telangana right before the assembly elections. All India Majlis-e-Ittehdul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi made sensational allegations on Congress Candidate, A Maheshwar Reddy accusing him of offering 25 lakhs to cancel an election rally in Nirmal Town Adilabad District of the state.

Without naming anyone, Owaisi while addressing a rally in Nirmal said that a local Congress leader has asked him to cancel his rally in Nirmal Town and offered him a bribe of Rs.25 lakhs. Responding to which crowd shouted the name of Congress candidate, A Maheswar Reddy.

He further said that he has the phone recording. The audio recording of the conversation allegedly congress ‘s Mudhol Candidate Rama Rao Pawar and AIMIN Jabiar Ahmed has been shared widely on social media platforms. In the audio clip, a man who was identified as congress Rao, says Maheshwar had come to him to make a request to cancel AIMIM Rally, he has offered 25. Following a tactical alliance with the TRS, Owiasi’s party has not fielded its candidate from the nirmal seat, and Owaisi was campaigning for TRS Candidate in Nirmal Town on Tuesday.

Responding to the allegations, Congressmen rejected all his accusations. A Maheshwar told reporters in a press conference “How can I offer a person 25 lakhs who himself has thousands of crores’ He further added that he will resign from politics if Owaisi proves it. While Congress Spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi takes a dig at Owaisi and said not to take him seriously.

The AIMIM is contesting on 8 assembly seats in Hyderabad while TRS is going all alone on all 119 seats of the state.

The state will go for polling in a single phase for all 119 seats on December 7 along with Rajasthan. The results will be announced on December 11.
