During his interview, while talking about the elections coming up in the next six months, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani said that Modi factor will definitely influence the elections. Modi has been visiting Gujarat almost once a month for specific events. He added that it is a natural tendency for any party to look forward to its most powerful leader and BJP is lucky to have a national leader like Narendra Modi.

When asked about the biggest achievement of Gujarat government, Vijay replied that, the government has emerged as a transparent, decisive and sensitive government. He said that the government is progressive and that it believes in doing things. He further added that Janvishwas (faith of the people) was the main objective and the government has achieved it. The major problem that most of the people faced especially the poor, was the difficulty in getting their work done in government offices, often they were asked for bribes or were sent back. But with help of Sevasetu programme initiated by the government, which bought in transparency by making a cluster of 10 villages each and getting the work done of over 45 lakh people in the state, he further added.

During the interview when questioned if the BJP has ever faced anti-incumbency in the past two decades, he said that there is no question of anti-incumbency. There is no visible anger against the government, infact people are very happy and are getting more involved with the government. He also added that whenever Gujarat government has organised camps and programmes or interacted with the people, they have enthusiastically participated in each event. While discussing over the opposition party in Gujarat, Vijay commented that, after the UP election results, Congress is panic-stricken. It neither has any agenda for the elections nor any candidate to fight the election. Though congress is confident that it will not let BJP win 150 seats, everyone else is convinced that BJP will win. He also mentioned that Congress has become a matter of Joke in Gujarat, where it is marketing slogans like ‘Congress aave che’ (Congress is coming) but the people are responding back with slogans like ‘Congress aave ke na aave pan bapu jaye che’ (Congress may or may not come but bapu is donewith for sure). People here in Gujarat are convinced that Vaghela is will not be back for sure.

When said that Gujarat is considered as an idle, when it comes to tackling law and order, Vijay responded that, firstly there should be no political interference in the works of police and secondly all the policemen should be treated with dignity and respect. By doing this it will hamper the confidence of mafia’s and local goons and it will boost up the morale and confidence of the policemen, he added.

Discussing about the implementation of GST, CM Vijay Rupani said that, Gujarat is well prepared for the GST. All entrepreneurs small or big have registered and there are already over 5 lakh registrations done. Many seminars are being arranged to educate the people about the new tax regime. Even special seminars are held for MPs and MLAs, so that even they can further help and guide others.

Concluding the interview Vijay Rupani said that in the past three years of Modi Government, there has not been any single scam in the government and that Narendra Modi has established himself as a leader, whom people admire and respect.
