In a surprising move, two members of Haryana Congress formally joined Dushyant Chautala-led Jannyak Janata Party on Wednesday. The two leaders are Azad Mohammad and Wasim Azad.

The induction of both the leaders took place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala at his residence in Delhi. The induction of new members also saw the presence of other prominent leaders of the JJP party such as Tayyab Hussain and Yogesh Sharma.

Azad Mohammad is a famous leader from Mewat. He was first elected as an MLA in 1996. He had also honored the post of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly back in 2005. Azad Mohammad had served as the district unit president of Congress party from 2002 to 2005 while Wasim Azad had held the post of Congress leader from the Firozpur Jhirka area in Haryana.

In the Haryana elections, JJP had secured 10 seats in total despite being just a 10-month-old party. The state went to the polls for its 90 assembly seats, out of which BJP secure the maximum number of seats. Since BJP fell short of a clear majority, it sought the support of JJP and other candidates. Congress party came on second position in the state with 31 seats.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has sworn in again as the CM of state for his second term while Dushyant Chautala was made the Deputy Chief Minister.
