The mahagathbandhan in Bihar is going through tough times, trying to save its political stability in the state. The alliance between JD(U)RJDCongress is raising many eyebrows in the political sphere as to whether it will survive or not.

The CBI raids on former Railway Minister and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members is proving to be both of an advantage and disadvantage to BJP. While on one hand there are talks that Bihar CM and JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar might break the alliance and join hands with BJP, the other possibility that is being regarded is that RJD is using these raids to gain sympathy amongst the Muslim-Yadav equations and win their support.

Nitish Kumar recently held a meeting with Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi over the issue of Bihar’s Deputy CM and Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav’s resignation. As per the prevailing political turmoil in Bihar Congress party’s urgent role is required in saving Bihar’s ruling grand alliance in its own political interest. As, if JD(U) decides to join hands with BJP, Congress along with RJD will be swept out of Bihar.

Nitish has over the period of time build a strong support base among non-Yadav OBC in its favor, this can be a plus point for BJP easily woo the voters of most backward castes (MBC) or non-Yadav among the OBC. BJP is well aware that it cannot expect victory without forming an alliance in Bihar and hence this explains BJP’s willingness to see Nitish in its camp.

Now the heavy responsibility of saving the grand alliance remains on the shoulders of Congress if the party does not want to see its exit from Bihar.
