With the election campaign in Gujarat finally reaching to its height, Congress is trying its best to reach out to the maximum number of people that it could and give the best fight to BJP for the upcoming assembly elections. As yet another initiative, the party has decided to reach out to people in 7 districts of Gujarat to interact with the citizens and to form its manifesto for the elections. Congress is trying its best to engage the local people, who are unsatisfied with government’s policies on economic and social front.

Sources aware of the development said that the party’s manifesto committee, headed by senior Gujarat Congress leader, Madhusudan Mistry, will travel to 7 districts including Ahmedabad, Surat, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Vadodara and Khera. In these districts, the committee will interact with farmers, traders, students, women and leaders of various communities to seek their views on the issues in society and for the points to be included in the manifesto. These trips will start from November 7th and will last for around 2 weeks.

Congress is trying hard to cash on the disappointment and frustration people have had after demonetisation and GST. In his meetings with traders, Rahul Gandhi has been continuously touching on this fact and it seems that he will try to keep it going in order to gain support from the trader’s community.

Ashok Gehlot, in-charge of Gujarat Congress, in a recent interview, had said that Congress is considering providing unemployment allowance for unemployed educated youth, financial help for the loans to farmers and economically backward communities.
