Congress sees an opening for itself in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as according to congress, Telugu Desam Party government in Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti regime in Telangana are experiencing administrative breakdown.

Taking advantage of this, Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Telangana on Thursday, where he will address a rally along with AICC general secretary in-charge Digvijaya Singh and state party leaders. He will be highlighting the failures of TRS government, bring up the issue of special category status for Telangana. He will also mention that during the time of bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh and before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, UPA government had promised to grant special funds and special category status for both the states, which has not been fulfilled yet.

With the same agenda Gandhi and Singh will address a rally in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, where TDP is in power. Here also he plans to highlight the failure of TDP government, to get the Centre to deliver a special category status for Andhra.

Talking about the failure of both TDP and TRS to get special category status for both the states, Congress is trying to open its door for victory in assembly elections due in 2018 by promising to get the same for both states.

As majorly all the opposition parties are showing unity against the NDA government, it will be seen in the election Campaign of Congress in Telangana and Andhra also as, Sharad Yadav (JDU), Sitaram Yechury (CPM), Akhilesh Yadav (SP), D Raja (CPI) are expected to join the rally.
